Afternoon of Praise as Imo AVM Fellowship converge

The Ononujus and others at the event

Wemabod Estate, one of the oldest but ever sprawling estates in the heart of Ikeja, the Lagos State capital, woke from its slumber posture last Sunday when indigenes of Imo State who worship at Arch Bishop Vining Memorial Cathedral Church Ikeja under the aegis of Imo Sons and Daughters Fellowship, held their end of year get together.

However, this year’s edition of the programme was two-fold as the group not only reviewed matters arising from previous meetings but honoured some of its members for being exceptional in different areas.
Spurred by the smooth ambience, mode of worship that pervade church community, including the welfare packages enjoyed by its ministers and others officers, the quest to have a gathering that will discuss and fine=tune the extension of such a gesture to be enjoyed by those back home came alive.
Engineer (Evang) Nath Opurum, one of the key founders of the Fellowship explained that aside from the need to recreate the heartening back in Imo State, members also assist one another in times of need. ‘’We started in 2003, got matured in 2008 and it has come to stay.’’
Also explaining the mission of the Imo Fellowship of Archbishop Vining Church, the Secretary, Humphrey Opara, said that it is organized to come together as one, liaise with home churches to install the convivial atmosphere that exists here there.
‘’We want to make the home churches and pastors as comfortable as those at Archbishop Vining here. In fact we have been helping the parishes as well as our members in distress.’’
The august event which was hosted by Mazi Enekwa who thanked that the Fellowship has been sustained, was ministered by Rev. Dr. Okere. Sir Martins Ononuju and wife Lady Onunuju were installed as Patron/Matron of the Fellowship. Others included Mazi Sam Ajagu and Kanayo Nwokedinobi.
‘’We will always support the Fellowship we are called upon,’’ said the Ononujus who are retiring to their home in Imo State.
