More Biafrans Exit UPP As Biafran Students Announce Withdrawal

The Biafra Students Union (BIASU) has announced that it is withdrawing its support from the United Progressive Party UPP.

In a press statement signed by Comrade Udo Nwogbu, president of BIASU, Federal Polytechnic Oko, the union said it decided to abandon the party because the party sold out Biafrans by using guile to pretend that it promotes self determination, while at the same time plotting to manipulate the Anambra primaries to favour the highest bidder.

It further advised it's members to denounce and desist from any activity that may promote the party.

BIASU had in late July this year, mobilised thousands of students across tertiary institutions in Anambra State to get voters cards in readiness for the  guber polls.

It read thus; " This withdrawal was made possible after UPP sold the Biafran ideology by manipulating the original delegates lists for the Anambra primaries. These irregularities clearly stated that the party has no regard for our ideology and should be regarded as a corrupt party under the leadership of a corrupt national chairman.

"We also want to assure the general public that despite the betrayal of UPP, we still maintain our ideology which is equity, fairness, justice and freedom. We also still maintain our stand that elections must hold in Biafraland because we believe in political and legal process to actualize Biafra", the statement read.

Recall that BIASU was formed few months ago in the wake of a new consciousness by Biafrans to take its struggle to an intellectual level.
