Can October 1 debutants, TSTV challenge DStv’s Dominance?

As the October 1 date slated for the take-off of a new satellite television station, TSTV draws closer, indications that DStv, touted to be the leader of the pack in Nigeria, has become jittery and already relaxing some of its hardcore conditions have emerged.

According to feelers at our disposal, the new station which is powerfully-connected and boasts of all the channels that wow subscribers, also paradeshi-tech personnel and equipment.

Although the brains behind it are yet to be revealed, our findings show that TSTV as its unique selling point (USP) will run its services on Pay-As-You-Go basis thereby allowing customers access to television viewing always as against the full subscription order offered by others.

Unconfirmed sources hinted that worried by the new development, the other satellite and terrestrial operators are beginning to think about adopting the new services to avoid losing the grip on their customers.

‘’They are coming with a lot of entertaining and amazing channels that will make the difference. What’s more, they already have a grip on the much sought-after EPL, La Liga and other sports channels/events to stand firm,’’ a source hinted.

TSTV, we gathered, will sell just N5,000 with maximum subscription at N3,000 monthly. While the rest will go for N1,500, N1,000, N500 and even N200!
