Kalu, Others' Trial Adjourn Till October 3

Trial of former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu and two others over alleged fraud before Justice Mohammed Idris of  Federal High Court, Lagos has been adjourned  till October 3 to 6.

The new date fixed for tcontinuation of trial, was due to absence of Justice Idris, who is currently in Abuja for official assignment, the judge had earlier fixed today for continuation of the matter.

It was gathered that the judge is attending  judges' conference in Abuja
Dr. Kalu, Udeh Jones Udeogu and Slok Nigeria Limited were on October 31, 2016, arraigned before the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC )  on a 34-count charge of alleged N3.2billion fraud, but they pleaded not guilty to the charge.

So far, the prosecution has called five witnesses to prove it's case against the defendants but none has been able to link Dr. Kalu to the crime.
Even the fifth witness of EFCC, Toyosi Ekorhi, told the court  that she had no  input in the documents tendered against the defendants.

The witness who has concluded her evidence before Justice Idiris, while being cross-examined by lawyer to the third tdefendant (Slok Nigeria Ltd), K. C. Nwofo (SAN), said she was not the author of the documents tendered as exhibits by the prosecution.
