Gains Of Independence More Pronounced, Says IPAC

Hon. Tracy Agol, the chairman of Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Edo State, has stated that the gains of nationhood in the past 57 years of Nigeria's independence are more than the setbacks.

On the basis of this she charged that the unity of the different segments should not be jettisoned.  She was speaking on the occasion of this year's independence day anniversary celebration.

Agol charged that there should be mutual understanding between the government and the governed in all aspects of national development such that issues of militancy and call for secession become things of the past.   On restructuring, she reiterated that the issue should be handled with utmost caution as it has the capacity to degenerate to an uncontrollable level.

Going further, Agol stressed; "At 57, Nigeria is a success story but we need to look back at where we're coming from to this point in time.   "The days of the locust are gone forever but we should endeavour to plan ahead so that we can have good stories to tell our future generations.

"We must have a sober reflection on all aspects of our existence in the past 57 years.
Meanwhile, recently the Edo State chapter of IPAC elected new executives to run its affairs for the next one year with Hon. Tracy Agol elected as chairman for a second term.

Others elected include Comrade Kelly Ogbaloi (KSE) as deputy chairman; Evangelist Odaise  Chris Aire as secretary; Ogbodo Orlando (treasurer); Moses Akhigbe as deputy secretary, Joseph Omorogbe is Publicity Secretary and Mr. Osagie is the Financial Secretary.
