The U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Stuart Symington, has predicted that the future of Nigeria is in the hands of the inmates of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps across the country.

He made the prediction while on a working visit to the IDP camp situated in Uhogua in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

The diplomat had while going round the school built inside the camp charged the pupils to embrace education wholeheartedly as it will pave the way for their means of livelihood when they leave the camp.

Continuing, Ambassador Symington assured the inmates that Nigeria cares about them and as such they too should show care to others.

"All of you'll do things that are different. What you'll do will change Nigeria and the world.
"You should all care about Nigeria. The future of Nigeria is literally in your hands and also in your hearts.
"When I look at you, my heart is filled. You're the face of hope," the ambassador concluded.

Responding, the Commandant of the camp, Pastor Solomon Folorunsho described the ambassador's visit as been timely, adding that he is looking forward to future collaborations with the U.S. embassy.
