Actors Guild Honours IGP Ibrahim Idris With ‘Ochiagha’ Title

For his immense efforts in combating crime and insurgency in the polity, the Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris has been honoured with the title, ‘Ochiagha’ by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).

Presenting the award to the Inspector General, President, Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas who went on a courtesy call to the Police force headquarters, expressed his appreciation to the relentless efforts of the police in making homes, streets, properties safe and pray God to continue to guide and guard the police in their duties across the country.

Rollas also solicited the support of the IG to partner with the guild to help Nollywood fight piracy, use of non practitioners in filming in different parts of the country because according to him, non members and practitioners is causing the guild a fortune.

On behalf of the IG, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Operations, Habila Joshack thanked the guild for the award and promised to always support Nollywood in any area it required the police to intervene.

He said: “The police is always your friend and we are in support of Nollywood more especially as ambassadors of Nigeria. Nollywood is well revered in different African countries and beyond.”
Joshack encouraged Mr. President to do everything possible to ensure that miscreants do not penetrate the industry.

Others who accompanied Mr. President are Doris Ogala, Senior Special Assistant to Mr. President on General Duties; Agility Onwurah, former Abuja chapter chairman and Senior Special Assistant on International Travels, Moses Terima Kassar, National Financial Secretary and Charles Awurum.
