Actors Guild Mourns Aboderin, Adeoye

Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) commiserates with the families of the chairman, PUNCH Nigeria Limited, Mr. Gbadebowale Aboderin and veteran actress, Mrs. Motunrayo Adeoye.

60 years old Aboderin died at 6.05 on Wednesday May 30, 2018 after a heart surgery at First Cardiology Consultants, Ikoyi, Lagos while Adeoye gave up the ghost this morning in Ibadan after battling chronic ulcer for many years.  The popular Yoruba actor was a niece to the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.

In a statement by the President, Actors Guild of Nigeria, Mr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas, the deaths of Aboderin and Adeoye have left indelible mark in their different endeavours.
Their contributions in their different vocation will not be forgotten as well as their legacies which cannot be quantified.

Rollas said: “ We mourn with the family of Aboderin whose contributions in the media cannot be forgotten. PUNCH newspaper has continuously upheld the tradition of professionalism and has greatly helped Nollywood to be what it is. From testimonies of both old and new staff of PUNCH about Aboderin, we have no doubt that he is resting with his maker after living a worthy life, though he died at the young age of 60. We are also bereaved that one of us Madam Motunrayo who left an indelible mark in the movie industry will be sorely missed. She contributed a lot to the growth of Nollywood especially the Yoruba genre. May their souls rest in peace.”
