All Set For Ake Arts and Book Festival

It is here again! The Ake Arts and Book Festival!

According to Alliance francaise de Lagos, organizers of the event,  this year's theme is ‘Fantastical Futures’ and events and conversations will focus largely on a re-imagined African future, whilst exploring the exciting wave of Afrofuturism across the continent.

Aké festival will once again host mostly African writers, artists, filmmakers, poets, dancers and thinkers flying in for all over the world to advance our goal of developing, promoting and celebrating creativity on the African continent. As such, the finest of contemporary African literature, music, art, film and theatre will be showcased in over sixty different events.

The festival set for October 25 to 28 at Radisson Blu hotel, Ikeja, GRA, Lagos will feature 8 book chats with 16 exciting authors, 4 art exhibitions, 1 stage play, 1 in-depth interview with Nuruddin Farah, 8 school visits, 20 simulating panel discussions, 12 films and documentaries screenings, 1 exhilarating poetry performance with 10 poets and a thrilling music concert with 5 international stars.
